The guest house is an extraordinary thing, rising up amongst the rocks seemingly out of nothing. It has a potential that I hope is more than the simple calculation of return and investment. Finance, prayers and much shared disappointment have gone into this project along the way. All this and more is baked into its future, and our hopes with it. Local people think it is spectacular and keep asking ‘when will it open’. The guest house feels very peaceful, located away from the traffic and bustle of the trading centre. The nearby rock is a beautiful place to sit and reflect and take some morning prayers. This is all in keeping with the selected name for the guest house - ‘Traveller's Rest’ – this seems to be a name that they are very happy with on the Ugandan side. Nevertheless, there is still a large amount of work to be completed before the enterprise as a whole can reach its potential.
The guest house is very close to being open for business, which is very exciting news for the charity. There is much hope that it will provide a steady income for the charity for years to come.
